Building apps to help members out of unemployment
As one of Australia’s oldest unions, the ETU knows how to take care of their members. The Centre for U exists to provide those members with training and support services to help reduce unemployment and keep members upskilling for better job prospects.
Looking to improve their member experience, Centre for U wanted to expand their online solution to include specific iOS and Android apps that would streamline the booking process for their mobile users.
In order to ensure the app experience added value to members, we first needed to do a complete review of their website and systems. This was completed using our bespoke methodology, consists of four key phases:
- Research & Analysis
- Content & Design
- Development & Delivery
- Support & Optimisation
Through the in-depth review, we were able to determine that the app could be built using Flutter, to streamline the development. The result was an iOS and Android app, built to mirror one another for consistent user experience, with four key sections: Overview, Schedule, My Account, and News.
Through the Overview page, members can view all programs and book them in just a few steps. Schedule allows them to instantly view upcoming programs that they have booked. My Account helps members quickly access their information to ensure their contact details are up to date, and they can easily view their learning history. Finally, News works to keep up to date with all the latest ETU goings-on.
Centre for U was extremely happy with the new apps, proud to be leading the way in providing services to support their members through work, unemployment, injury, illness or hardship.
